Colombo Institute aims to provide an enabling environment to create intellectual rigor and innovative thinking in areas of socio-cultural knowledge production in Sri Lanka through a holistic approach. It aspires to become an alternative forum for thinking, working and conducting regular conversations across South Asia and the world.
Mission
Colombo Institute’s mission is to provide a space to achieve the following objectives: 1. Cultural and social research 2. Developmental research and consultancies 3. Academic and theoretical publications in social sciences and humanities 4. Creating space and avenues for creative writing, and publications in the subject 5. Production of films, podcasts and other media-based tools for dissemination of knowledge 6. Translations in academic and creative writing 7. Teaching in social sciences and humanities 8. Creating research and intellectual networks across South Asia and beyond
